Plenty has been written about the ongoing action at the top of the global Donkey Kong leaderboards, but what inspired plastic surgeon Dr Hank Chien to take up the challenge?
A leg to stand on
Without the need to hold anything in your hands there's not a huge amount of potential for Kinect accessories, but when it comes to keeping the sensor itself steady and well-positioned PDP has the market covered with a series of officially licensed peripherals. We recently got to grips with PDP's range of accessories, with the Official Kinect Floor Stand first on the list.
This industry never fails to amaze me. If gamers knew how low some people stoop I think their eyes would pop out of their heads.
Grey matters
The original Dr Kawashima's Brain Training on Nintendo DS started a revolution back in the day: suddenly game developers realised they could tap into a brand new market of buyers eager to kickstart their cerebral centres, and a host of copycat titles emerged over the next few years. With Kinect ready-made for this same market, it's no surprise the Japanese doctor has returned - minus Nintendo - with a series of new brain-busting exercises in the form of Dr Kawashima's Body and Brain Exercises (known as Dr Kawashima's Body and Brain Connection in some countries.)
Rat goes cheap
As well as the Killzone 3 single-player demo, a few pieces of Move-related DLC received price reductions in yesterday's American PlayStation Store update.
Oh, and sun visors in February
It's not quite as cool as the Game & Watch Ball that Club Nintendo members in North America can pick up, but the European VIP Stars Catalogue just got an update containing folding fans, sun visors and, oddly, Nintendo Points cards to the value of 100 Points.
An acquired taste
Way back when Nintendo was putting the finishing touches to Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on GameCube, there were plans for a limited edition controller to accompany the little box's swansong. While the pad never hit the shelves, photos of its prototype design and packaging have hit the net for your eyes to behold.
"In a world..."
Fluffy launch title – there is no other way to describe it – Kinectimals isn't just a pet simulator, it's an adventure set on a secret island. To set the scene a little better, Microsoft and Frontier Developments have put together a so-called "fictional trailer" to explain your place in all this.
Ahoy, a-har, etc.
It's not even out yet and already the 3DS is set to receive two games in the LEGO series: LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars arrives on day one, and a little further down the line gamers can expect to cross swords with Jack Sparrow and crew in LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean.
