Out today - good game! RT @movemodo: Review: de Blob 2 (PlayStation 3): Pass with flying colours? http://bit.ly/gpLlMB #PSMove #PS3
Pass with flying colours?
The first de Blob on Wii was a critical success and didn’t sell too badly either, shifting around a million copies for publisher THQ and proving Wii platformers didn’t need to feature a famous mascot to be successful. Now the series has gone multiplatform, with the PS3 version fully compatible with PlayStation Move and 3DTVs, but is the result a masterpiece?
Mystery over?
Kinect-exclusive puppeteer shooter (yes, really) The Gunstringer has had its target format shrouded in mystery, with developer Twisted Pixel dodging the question like a skeleton marionette, even in our exclusive The Gunstringer interview. Now the intrigue is dead, as a Microsoft press release has called the game an Xbox Live Arcade title. The Gunstringer” (Twisted Pixel Games) – From the developers that brought you award-winning hits like “Splosion Man,” “The Maw” and “Comic Jumper,” comes an all-new Kinect-exclusive title, “The Gunstringer” for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Take control of an undead marionette in an epic Wild West stage production that requires your puppeteering and quick draw shooting skills to exact revenge on the Gunstringer's enemies – all controller-free.The game is currently playable at Microsoft's February Showcase alongside fellow Kinect headliner Child of Eden, and Twisted Pixel sent over a stack of new screenshots showing off the Gunstringer himself in greater detail, which you can see below.
Today's bargain - Lost in Blue on Wii for £7! Hope it's as good as the DS entries. http://twitpic.com/43csyf
Dry your eyes
There was much sobbing and wailing when the rumoured February release date for Child of Eden came and went, but now the handkerchiefs have dried out with news the game will release before July rolls around, according to the latest release date sent out by Ubisoft.
Little later in North America
Sega's Virtua Tennis 4 is heading to Kinect on 29th April in Europe and 10th May in North America, the publisher has announced today.
Mixed news, everyone
Famed WiiWare developer Gaijin Games and Robotube Games have worked together in the past – Mr Robotube appears as a cameo character in BIT.TRIP FATE, for example – but the two just got a whole lot closer, as Gaijin announces it has acquired Robotube in an "extremely hostile" takeover.
Europe gets it earlier
Move is sure to see a real tennis tussle this year: 2K Sports' Top Spin 4 and Virtua Tennis 4 will go head-to-head on the motion controller, with Sega's title following its opponent onto centre court in May.
WiiWare's Bobby Carrot Forever must be in a Gro-Bag these days: we went for over two years without hearing anything, then this month the exclusive Bobby Carrot WiiWare screenshots and first gameplay trailer have appeared within the space of a few weeks.
