The hype machine for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver is certainly kicking into action now, with the news that select US retailers are offering Ho-Oh and Lugia figurines to preorder customers.

In a move that nobody saw coming, Nintendo today announced the release of a pink DSi console in Europe, available from February 12th. Packaged with Style Boutique (known as Style Savvy in the US), the console is set to win over macho hearts and minds in just a few weeks.

Attempting to nestle nicely into this overcrowded genre comes Art of Balance, a physics-based block-stacker from the developers of DS shooter Nanostray. Having had chance to sit down with Art of Balance for a few hours it’s clear this is a classy puzzle game that should make you sit up and take notice.
500,000 still a big figure, though
We've been keeping a close eye on Ubisoft's upcoming East-meets-West shooter Red Steel 2 - seriously, we have some of the world's best content on it, y'know - which is now due for launch in March of this year. Perhaps taking on board the recent discussion of mature games on Wii, the company has decided to lower its sales estimate from one million to 500,000 units sold.
We've already told you what we reckon about the new DSi XL and its mammoth screens, but if you live in Europe then you'll get a chance to try it yourself when the console launches on March 5th, 2010.
Europeans get to dive again on February 5th
You won't have to hold your breath too much longer for Nintendo's next dive 'em up, as Nintendo announce the game will see a release across Europe on February 5th, 2010. Promising new features over the acclaimed original, including Wii Speak support and a new Pulsar gun that sounds like it was made for multiplayer deathmatches, Endless Ocean 2: Adventures of the Deep should offer more of the same soothing oceanic investigation.
