Love it or loathe it, Metacritic is here to stay. The site collates review scores for thousands of films, TV shows and of course video games, but while the site is the source of plenty of debate it has given rise to an entertaining pastime: Metacritic Top Trumps.
Loves them really
There was something of a storm in a teacup around Reggie Fils-Aime's recent comments that Nintendo isn't interested in garage developers. As long-time fans of WiiWare and DSiWare will know, some of the services' better titles have originated from semi-professional coders or small development teams. Now Nintendo of America's director of PR Marc Franklin has stepped in to explain the company's feelings on the matter.
No new WiiWare this week
We often talk about rarities in the Nintendo Download, but here's a truly surprising event: this week's download sees no new WiiWare title available for download. There's a pair of demos, two DSiWare titles and no Virtual Console outing, making a pretty underwhelming week for those with Nintendo Points.

Carnivals, pets, minigames: these are all fine uses for Kinect's limb-tracking ability, but when the kids have gone to bed you might want to play a slightly different kind of party game. Ubisoft recently caused a bit of a fuss with We Dare on PlayStation Move and Nintendo Wii, but it's nothing compared to the saucy happenings on Kinect title Kinect Erotics.
Gory team shooter Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D is set to show 3DS owners what their console can do when it's released in a few months, but it'll also give gamers a taste of more traditional Biohazard outing Resident Evil: Revelations in the form of an included playable demo.
Sega's famous for its blue skies, but Rise of Nightmares sounds as far away from the Green Hill Zone as you can get, if the game's ESRB rating is to be believed.
