We knew there wouldn't be much on show for DS this year at E3, but Nintendo has managed to scoop the last few remaining titles together and sculpt them into a release schedule for the coming year.

There have been a few Western-themed games to download on Nintendo platforms over the years — The Oregon Trail, Fenimore Fillmore "The Westerner" — and 3DS is about to get one of its very own.
Blue sparks flying
You've probably already seen the Mario Kart 3DS screenshots, but it'd be better to see the game moving, right? Right.
Not at all
Last year's Kirby's Epic Yarn was good and all, but removing the pink puff ball's iconic sucking ability put some gamers off. The video for the new Kirby Wii (tentative title), then, will draw many more players in, featuring as it does a huge amount of sucking.
Picture Lives! is like the attic-dwelling child of Scribblenauts and Spore, a strange combination of monster creator, animation tool and the rejects of Monsters Inc..
An appetiser
Nintendo's new eShop took up a small portion of the company's overall E3 showing, with the announcement that The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is available now in North America, though European and Australian 3DS owners will have to wait a little longer, we understand.
It burns
Like watching Magneto and Professor X make friends in X-Men: First Class, it's still strange seeing old rivals Mario and Sonic be all chummy in Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, though it's nothing compared to seeing Metal Sonic wielding a tennis racquet.
Land, sea and air
Mario Kart was confirmed for release this Christmas, resulting in much rejoicing, but it's the new additions to the series that will likely get gamers geared up (sorry) for the upcoming 3D racer.
See the flat one on the move
Paper Mario on 3DS looks pretty special in this video below, but having seen it running in 3D we can tell you it looks even better in the thin, papery flesh. While Nintendo didn't have much to tell about the game at its E3 media briefing, the new screenshots and video below should keep you going until we have more solid information for you about Mario's next 3D 2D adventure.
