Bejeweled, sports and yard sales on WiiWare; Kappas, crosswords, keyboards and watches on DSiWare; ninjas on Virtual Console
We all know that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is something special, and it seems most of the UK public knows it as well, buying up enough copies since Friday's launch to put the game at number two in the UK all-formats chart.
Football returns to Wii with single-player improvements
Last year's Madden NFL 10 for Wii was one of the series' best multiplayer entries yet, with the Showdown and Huddle-Up modes bringing casual gamers into the gridiron action quickly. Its single-player elements, sadly, were not quite so well-developed, but for this year's instalment EA is promising a far improved Franchise mode that it's calling its "deepest single-player experience to date".Fed up of fighting fires on the @nintendolife comments but do love the backlash against almost anything I write. Worth getting up for!
Did you know the human head weighs 8lbs?
Buzz kill
With a few exceptions – Excitebike: World Rally and Heracles: Chariot Racing chief among them – WiiWare is pretty thin on family-friendly, well-received racing titles, so the thinking behind Mister Bumblebee Racing Champion is clear. Sadly, the best thing about this game is likely to be its title.Certainly prettier than the first lot
We've seen the three Pokémon you'll choose from at the start of your adventure, as well as the legendary monsters you'll look to snag nearer the end, but in-between there's dozens of new Pokémon to discover. Japanese magazine CoroCoro has obliged by revealing details and images of six brand new monsters and a few new areas too.Plus it's codenamed EDEN. Come on Mr Mizuguchi, make it happen. This could potentially be more exciting than any Nintendo reveal.
Rumours that Tetsuya Mizuguchi is to show off a Rez sequel are very, very exciting. "Return to SYNAESTHESIA" indeed!
