Girls on rollerskates at last
"What's a roller derby?", the curious among you may have asked. It's a sport in which two teams of five players on rollerskates try to score points against each other. It's fast, physical and hardly what you'd call "mainstream", which makes it a perfect candidate for a transition to Wii. That's exactly what's happening, as Frozen Codebase is bringing Jam City Rollergirls to WiiWare.

Magical attacks from the white wizard
In development at Headstrong Games of Battalion Wars and House of the Dead: Overkill fame, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest takes the titular bearded hero through a series of trials. What could be better than one bearded hero? Two bearded heroes of course, as this video shows Gandalf fighting side-by-side with Aragorn.
Anchors aweigh and all that
Although the popularity of pirates took a sharp increase with the Pirates of the Caribbean films, discerning gamers will know it was cool to be a pirate way as far back as 1987 with the release of Sid Meier's Pirates!. Earlier this year, Wii owners danced a merry jig at the announcement that the game is on the way to their favourite machine, and the revelry can continue as 2K Games has unfurled a flag bearing the game's release date: October 8th.

500 Point shooter inbound
Following the announcement of Cosmos X2 for DSiWare in June, the team at Saturnine Games has been in touch to let us know the game is set to blow up the service on Monday for 500 Points.

Colour-conscious Japanese gamers gained three more colour choices in June when yellow, blue and green DSi LL consoles launched, and North America received the midnight blue console last month. PAL regions have been disappointingly short-changed in the XL colour stakes – until now.
But what could they be?
Nintendo and THQ teamed up to create the uDraw GameTablet, the upcoming peripheral for Wii that offers gamers and families the chance to draw on their Wii. Currently only THQ has announced solid software plans, with Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure confirmed for the peripheral, but there are already rumours surfacing that Nintendo is hard at work at software itself.
