Controller-free gaming is a hard sell: the first device of its kind in the home, Kinect is going against over 25 years of home gaming played mostly with thumbs (and stuck-out tongues in those intense moments). US research firm Ipsos Vantis recently carried out an "intent to buy" survey of both Kinect and PlayStation Move, with the results pointing to a successful Christmas for Microsoft's sensor.

There's been plenty of talk of this console generation having a longer lifespan than the five years that many previous machines enjoyed, with Kinect designed to bring new life to the now five-years old Xbox 360. Many gamers however can't help but think of the next generation and what it might bring. Not THQ boss Brian Farrell, however: he believes Microsoft's game-changing sensor beats a new machine.

Playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl can be pretty competitive even if you're just playing with your friends, so imagine the pressure surrounding a match in the Major League Gaming circuit, the pinnacle of competitive gaming.
