Hi Mister Slim, thanks for your comments.

It's interesting the point you make about Double H playing the stereotypical game hero role, hence why he tends to run into things and use strength over Jade's more delicate styles of gameplay.

However, you also say that the player is forced to play a certain way, and I think that's a point I dislike about the game - although there are multiple styles of gameplay, you are forced to use stealth too much, and it's the game's weakest link.

Although Jade isn't a hack-and-slash-type character, perhaps the game should have rewarded slightly more brave forms of passing areas.

One thing that neither of you really touched on is how the gameplay is built around Jade's character. All of her character development in cinematics and dialogue are reinforced in her interactions with the world. The player is forced to play smart and use Jade's agility and stealthiness to succeed, and running in and hacking away is usually doomed to failure. The game even uses Double H to stand in for the typical game hero, and Jade has to save him.

Considering that we wrote these articles without conferring, it's interesting that we both picked up on how the story is delivered. I really like the way that the player feels a part of it instead of an observer. I've played a lot of games where you feel as if you're simply watching a film, and doing a bit of shooting in between dull cut-scenes.

Do I get a prize for noticing that all your headings have something special in common?
